This is a space intended to support the work of racial justice and reconciliation. Within these pages I hope you will find great tools, meaningful conversations, and faithful collaborators who will walk beside you as we all seek the shalom of our communities.
This work was never meant to be done alone, and with the advent of this wonderful thing called the internet we can now reach far beyond our walls to embrace this work together. I love talking about the intersections of my race, gender and faith, but I am still learning, too. You may occasionally find more questions here than answers. I'm hoping we can figure out the answers together!
So, go ahead and poke around! Using the links at the top, you'll find my blog, bio, and a resource page with great tools for you! You can also purchase my book IM STILL HERE or download the free discussion guide! If you're ready to take your education to the next level, be sure to visit ACB Academy. Before you leave, don't forget to subscribe to my newsletter, and head on over to Twitter and Facebook to keep in touch.
engaging hope, a hope that demands
Our commitment to racial justice and reconciliation requires we dig into the muddiness of humanity, reckoning with the worst of our humanity as we call out its best. This work is not for the faint of heart. It requires hope. Not a hope founded on good feelings or good intentions, but hope that demands. For our hope is risky, relentless, rooted in our certainty that love will win.
There will be laughter. There will be truth-telling. There might even be tea-spilling. Join me to discuss the themes of my book IM STILL HERE. This year, Im coming to Penn State, Palo Alto, Spokane, San Fran, Denver, Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas and more! I cant wait to meet you, as we talk about what it means to pursue racial justice at this moment in history. Many of these events are free and open to the public, but make sure you check out all the details, as each location varies. As details are made available, I will post them on the Events page.
Talking about race is always risky business. But we can do hard things. We can be courageous and take a chance that there are folks around us who are committed to learning too. I want to help. Now you can download my free Discussion Guide. Gather your friends, your small group, your family, your friends around the table. Its time. Doing nothing is no longer an option.
